John Gallagher, Baton Rouge, Louisiana: In my spare time I enjoy traveling and exploring the outdoors, usually with cameras in hand. My main photographic interests have been landscapes and outdoor images. Over the last two years, I have participated in Photographic treks with the Popular Photography Magazine's Mentor Series and Friends of Arizona Highways Magazine where I studied under well-known photographers such as Bill Durrence, John Reddy, David Tejada and renowned Native American (Navajo) Photographer Leroy DeJolie, as well as having the unique opportunity to explore the Atchafalaya Basin on treks with C.C. Lockwood. I have had the rare opportunity to see Bald Eagles in their natural habitat, the sunrise over the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park, explore the underground slot canyons in Page, Arizona and the very rare opportunity to experience a sunrise from atop the sacred Navajo lands on Hunts Mesa overlooking Monument Valley on the Navajo Reservation.
